Dissemination and Implementation Specialist (Warfighter Brain Health)

GDIT’s military health team is hiring a Dissemination and Implementation Specialist to support the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE). The role supports the Army’s Mission Essential Task 30 – National Health Operations. The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence at TBI CoE Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, for the initial week and occasional on‑site meetings (approximately once per month or less).

Position Summary

The Implementation Specialist will partner with TBI CoE to ensure the efficient translation of evidence‑based products across the Military Health System (MHS). Responsibilities include coordinating with research, clinical, and educational SMEs; developing and executing strategic implementation plans; monitoring metrics; providing training and support; and advising senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic implementation and dissemination plans, including metrics, goals, and actionable processes to guide clinical and educational products from research to system‑wide adoption.
  • Ensure plans are scalable across multiple markets, track progress from research through launch and final implementation, and incorporate feedback to foster innovation.
  • Assist with execution of implementation plans for TBI clinical and educational products across the MHS.
  • Define appropriate levels of service and operational support, establish guidelines, rules of engagement, and roles to drive implementation success.
  • Create and manage project plans, scopes, schedules, and monitoring processes, including status reports and system‑wide metrics.
  • Provide project management, training, and support throughout implementation phases.
  • Train TBICoE personnel in implementation science and processes.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for collaboration with DoD DHA, Veterans Administration, and civilian partners.
  • Monitor qualitative measures of TBI care, clinical practice guideline usage, and advise HQ on initiatives, evaluations, and problem‑solving.
  • Supervise administrative staff assigned to relevant projects, as applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate (or with government approval, a master’s degree) in implementation science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of implementation science experience, including managing national‑level dissemination and implementation projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple research, clinical, and educational stakeholders, including military and civilian clinicians and administrators.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in DoD, military, or Veterans Administration health settings.
  • Project management training and PMP certification.

  • Competitive salary range: $112,840 – $129,766, based on experience and location.
