Clearance Requirement

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information. Minimum secret clearance required with the ability to obtain Top‑Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, control systems, and emergency power systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Maintain and repair electrical components such as switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and motors.
• Assist in the administration and regulation of junior technicians, overseeing contractor responsibilities.
• Monitor performance of electrical systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Utilize building management systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools to track electrical system performance and identify potential issues before they escalade.
• Assist in developing energy management strategies to reduce energy consumption and costs.
• Provide comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, components, and maintenance practices.
• Operate electrical testing and diagnostic tools proficiently.
• Familiarize with building management systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Analyze systems requirements, conduct research on equipment and procedures, and recommend modifications. Install new units or replacement parts according to specifications and safety guidelines.
• Utilize safe working practices, applying lockout/tagout, MSDS, and good housekeeping methods. Ability to type and use common administrative software.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and modify malfunctioning electronic units, including printed circuit boards, sensing mechanisms, and advanced electrical circuits.
• Perform maintenance, installations, and service repairs on critical data center systems and all industrial electrical equipment, ensuring efficient operation. Use appropriate test equipment, including infrared scanning and vibration analysis.
• Document facility parameters such as power availability, temperature, humidity, and alarm status during daily walk‑throughs and catalog for trend analysis.
• Manage mechanical and electrical systems in emergencies, including HVAC components, generator systems, load transfer, UPS, and fire and life safety systems.
• Identify required materials and parts for maintenance and repair, prepare cost estimates for procurement.
• Maintain relationships with major vendor accounts and coordinate critical environment vendors during maintenance, emergency, and break/fix events.
• Operate electrical data capturing devices (e.g., Dranetz, Fluke PQA) and create operating procedures and SOPs.
• Generate internal and vendor field service reports describing all activities performed.
• Develop reliability reports to identify areas for increased efficiency and resiliency.
• Conduct training for junior technicians and other staff on electrical equipment and system maintenance.
• Organize safe maintenance principles for scheduling planned and unplanned activities, and establish deadlines for work projects.
• Interpret building codes and local and federal regulations related to installations and apply them as required.
• Operate and inspect emergency power generation equipment and verify proper maintenance per MOPs, manufacturer literature, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum secret clearance required with the ability to obtain Top‑Secret clearance.
• Ability to travel 50% to Wiesbaden, Ansbach, Stuttgart; occasionally to other European countries such as Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Romania.

Candidate Expectations

• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, construction documents, safety requirements, OEM operating and maintenance instructions, job specifications, and MOPs.
• Use hand tools and test equipment to perform maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance of electrical systems throughout the facility; troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits.
• Communicate verbally and in writing with clarity and professionalism.
• Understand power density and HVAC system capacities to achieve and maintain availability targets.
• Knowledge of building automation systems and their components.
• Commit to excellence and produce high‑quality work.

• Have reliable transportation and be willing to work on M.C. Dean, Inc. projects anywhere.

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician and/or Master Electrical license preferred. Electrical OEM factory‑specific training or experience preferred.

Physical Abilities

• The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
• Work at heights up to 60 feet, using scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
• Perform routine tasks such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
• Possess good vision (including corrected vision), color vision, and hearing with effective English communication.
• Use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
• Identify potential problems proactively, applying general rules to specific situations and deriving conclusions.
• Observe close‑range details (within a few feet) and understand spoken information and ideas.
