Engineering Manager – 1KOMMA5° Heartbeat AI GmbH

As an Engineering Manager at 1KOMMA5° Heartbeat AI GmbH, you will lead one of our cross‑functional app teams, empowering your engineers to own the full lifecycle of their products from development and deployment to day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and expertise across the team and take part in the hiring process to find the best talents.
• Be an excellent people manager and support your team members in their professional and personal development.
• Help your team members create, implement, evaluate, deploy, sustain, and enhance software solutions for complex and undefined problems.
• Foster a culture of experiment‑driven innovation within the team.
• Promote teamwork and successful project execution.
• Improve developer satisfaction by continuously avoiding or reducing technical debt, automating where possible, and documenting decisions and runbooks.

Your profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in software engineering within a fast‑paced and scalable environment.
• At least 3 years of experience leading cross‑functional and agile software engineering teams that use cutting‑edge technologies on distributed systems.
• Systematic problem‑solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills in English; German is a plus.

Bonus points for

• Experience in climate tech and especially the energy industry.
• Experience in a startup or scale‑up environment.
