We are currently looking for an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for operating and maintaining all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within Amazon’s owned and operated data centers, ensuring 100% availability and better than 99.999% uptime for mission‑critical servers. The EOT also drives innovation while reducing operational costs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment.
• Assist in maintenance and monitoring of all Data Center systems including incidents, events, problems, changes, monitoring, and problem escalation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, chiller and generators.
• Provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment, including level I tasks, fiber optic, electrical certification, HVAC repair, UPS and generator certifications.
• Assist in deploying new equipment such as building racks, cabling, and other tasks as necessary.
• Respond to internal rack customer maintenance, repair and expansion requests through the ticketing system.
• Perform site walkthroughs to verify proper operation of facility equipment and monitoring systems.
• Maintain changes in state in mission‑critical infrastructure to support corrective/preventive maintenance.
• Review test quality, performance, safety, and reliability of products, equipment, and processes.

Basic Qualifications

• Technical training or similar experience in a relevant field (e.g., Military/Trade School).
• Electrical qualifications necessary to operate low voltage equipment in compliance with applicable German regulations (Elektrofachkraft).
• Several years of relevant work experience, ideally within Data Center operations.
• The role requires you to be a national of an EU member state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Several years of working within a data center.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field, mechanical or electrical trades.
• Certified electrician as per German regulations.
