Financial Controller (m/f/d)

We are looking for you to join our team in the Finance Department at Hamburg as a Financial Controller (f/m/d) as soon as possible.

Your role in the Wolfpack:

• Responsibility for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports, including variance analysis and performance tracking
• Monitoring financial performance and deriving actionable recommendations
• Support of month-end and year-end closing processes in close cooperation with Accounting
• Ensuring proper financial controls to safeguard local assets, including inventory and warehouse-related investments
• Monitoring and controlling expenses, ensuring correct approval processes (PRs, contracts, invoices)
• Ensuring compliance with internal policies, financial guidelines, and audit requirements
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Conducting profitability, cost, and investment analyses to support operational and strategic decisions
• Identifying risks, inefficiencies, and cost‑saving opportunities
• Acting as a key finance contact for local stakeholders and management
• Monitoring inventory performance (e.g. stock levels, movements, valuation) and ensuring transparency and accuracy
• Supporting continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting tools, and data quality
• Driving efficiency and clarity in financial reporting and controlling processes

What you bring:

• Completed degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a comparable field
• Minimum 6 years of experience in controlling, finance, or accounting
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, planning, and controlling processes
• Experience with financial controls, compliance, and audit environments
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting/BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA experience is a strong plus
• Warehouse and logistics industry background is a plus
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate figures into business insights
• Structured, detail‑oriented, and reliable working style
• Hands‑on mentality and ability to work independently in a local entity environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with different stakeholders
• Fluent in English and German
