Global Business Process Expert - R2R - Site2Service Accounting (f/m/d)

In this role you drive end-to-end optimization of Site Service Charging processes across Merck sites, aligning with global transformation objectives. You partner with the Innovation and Analytics team, business units, and support functions to standardize and automate intercompany, intracompany, and third-party invoicing flows. You lead process design, governance, and KPI management to improve efficiency and data quality. The role offers impact through ERP implementations, automation initiatives, and continuous process improvement. You will shape how Site Service Charging delivers value at scale and across the enterprise.

• Own end-to-end process optimization, reconciliation, and strategic transformation programs (e.g., ERP).
• Continuously enhance the Site Service Charging process focusing on automation, standardization, and efficiency.
• Support resource planning initiatives and design a global end-to-end process model across units.
• Promote simplification, modularization, and automation in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ensure robust processes for business and support functions and implement best practices.
• Own tools, systems, policies, and process design with stakeholders; govern processes with Change control, compliance, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Data team on data governance and KPI development; manage SLAs and performance metrics.
• Lead strategic initiatives like ERP implementations and automation programs; drive use of modern technologies.

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance or equivalent; MBA, MSc, CPA, CMA desirable.
• 5+ years in a senior accounting or R2R role in a multinational or Shared Services environment with SAP Intercompany/3rd-party charging focus.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS/local GAAP and R2R processes; SAP S/4HANA experience preferred.
• Experience with process automation, ERP customization, and RPA; track record in multi-year transformation programs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work in a complex matrix organization.
