Global Director of Manufacturing, Science, and Technology

We are supporting a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation in the search for a Director of Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) to lead the strategic development and execution of MS&T activities across a growing antibody portfolio.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced MS&T professional with deep expertise in antibody manufacturing, process development, technology transfer, and lifecycle management. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging development, manufacturing, quality, and external/internal manufacturing networks to enable robust, scalable, and compliant production of innovative therapies

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the global MS&T strategy for antibody manufacturing, supporting clinical and commercial programmes across the product lifecycle
• Provide technical leadership for antibody process development, scale-up, process characterisation, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive successful technology transfers between development sites, manufacturing facilities, and CDMO partners
• Establish and optimise manufacturing strategies to improve process robustness, scalability, cost efficiency, and supply reliability
• Partner cross-functionally with CMC, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support product advancement
• Lead and develop a high-performing MS&T organisation, fostering scientific excellence and operational innovation
• Support regulatory submissions, inspections, and health authority interactions through strong CMC and process understanding
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation, digitalisation, and implementation of best practices across global manufacturing operations

Background

• Extensive experience within Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T), Process Development, or Technical Operations within the biopharmaceutical industry
• Strong technical expertise in antibody manufacturing, purification, drug substance/drug product processes, and associated control strategies
• Proven experience leading global technology transfers and supporting manufacturing readiness for clinical and/or commercial products
• Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing environments, process validation, regulatory expectations, and lifecycle management
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing global teams and influencing across complex matrix organisations
• Experience working with CDMOs and external manufacturing networks is highly desirable
• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline
