Government Relations Manager, Campaigns, Public Policy DACH

As a Government Relations Manager you will play a critical role in developing campaigns that will advocate for effective, customer‑centric policies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will have a strong knowledge of and background in digital, consumer, economic and competition policy and other related topics. You will use your policy expertise to monitor policy and legislative developments, identifying and prioritizing issues relevant to the business. You will ensure business leaders are well‑informed on relevant policy developments, understand the business impact, risks and opportunities. You will work closely with internal business, policy, communications and legal teams as well as policymakers, industry stakeholders, academics, and advocacy groups to drive forward the policy conversation on how to better serve and innovate on behalf of customers. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in public policy advocacy and campaigning, a solid understanding of the policy landscape, the flexibility to build and execute multiple policy‑focused campaigns across different matters simultaneously, and the ability to effectively communicate complex issues to diverse audiences.

The position will be based in Berlin.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead advocacy efforts focused on effective, customer‑centric policies, including legislative and regulatory initiatives.
  • Work with internal and external partners to develop and conduct thorough research and analysis on policy issues, including market trends, economic impacts, and legal frameworks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, industry leaders, think tanks, and other advocacy groups to enable continuous innovation on behalf of customers.
  • Develop compelling policy briefs and reports that ensure messaging is clear and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with other organizations and interest groups.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree in economics, law, political science, public policy, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in public policy, advocacy, or government relations.
  • Strong knowledge of competition policy frameworks, and related legal and economic concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English language, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
  • Ability to work at pace, prioritising competing demands.
  • A passion for fair competition and consumer protection, with a strong commitment to public policy advocacy.
