Overview

PACE is supporting a leading renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the appointment of a Head of Grid to join its growing team in Berlin.

Our client is delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects across Europe and continues to expand its development pipeline throughout Germany. As the business grows, they are looking to appoint an experienced grid professional to lead grid connection strategy and support the successful delivery of renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

As Head of Grid, you'll take ownership of grid connection activities across a growing portfolio of renewable energy developments, working closely with development, engineering and project delivery teams to ensure projects progress efficiently from development through to construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading grid connection strategy across utility-scale renewable energy projects
  • Managing relationships with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and key industry stakeholders
  • Overseeing grid applications, technical assessments and connection agreements
  • Providing technical guidance on grid compliance, network studies and connection requirements
  • Supporting project development teams throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Identifying and managing risks relating to grid access, capacity and connection timelines
  • Leading and developing the company's grid function as the project portfolio continues to expand

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience in grid connection, transmission or power systems within the renewable energy sector
  • A strong understanding of German grid connection processes and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience working with renewable energy developers, IPPs, utilities or engineering consultancies
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience engaging with TSOs, DSOs and regulatory bodies
  • The ability to combine technical expertise with commercial awareness
  • Previous leadership or team management experience is advantageous
