Job Overview
You will join the Ground Test team, which is part of the Flight Test Center of AIRBUS Helicopters Germany. Our team performs development, certification, and qualification testing activities on aircraft on the ground. It comprises the domains electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), avionics and vehicle mission systems, vibrations, and acoustics. Our main goal is to ensure system maturity by making the bridge between avionic/vehicle rigs and flight tests. In order to do that we optimize integration and test sequence in close relationship with design office, simulation, rigs, flight‑test crews, and prototype shops. Finally, we show compliance with regulations specifications or certification/qualification requirements, in order to get our aircraft certified.
Location
Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, where we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on‑site test airfield.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Organizing, preparing, and performing ground test activities on various helicopters of the AIRBUS Helicopters fleet (development and certification) with related interfaces (Chief Engineering/Project, Prototype Shop, Design department or Helicopter Test Coordinator/Test Squad Leader)
- Being responsible for ground test activities mainly for EMC, and in addition for vibration and acoustic tests for civil and military platforms
- Analyzing and validating the test data with immediate debriefing and report before the flight tests
- Writing technical reports and following up of respective problem analysis
- Supporting aircraft troubleshooting and ensuring testing expertise
- Following technological evolution for new systems, functions, testing tools and means
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Engineering degree in mechatronics / electrical engineering / communications engineering or technical degree (e.g. completed technical vocational training and Technikerschule)
- Capability to undergo a Sicherheitsüberprüfung, at minimum Ü2
- At least 5‑10 years of professional experience in a technically relevant area of electrical or communications engineering, design, development or a similar field
- Strong interest or experience in avionic systems, radios, test or simulation tools is an advantage
- Innovative thinking, tenacity, adaptability, flexibility, and teamwork skills
- Very good analysis and excellent communication skills
- High resilience and ability to work in a daily changing and highly dynamic environment
- Language skills: Fluent in German and English.
