Head of Control Technology - HVDC

As a Team Leader in HVDC control technology, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing state-of-the-art control systems. This position requires daily management of a team while overseeing both technical and managerial responsibilities in projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage an engineering team of 20 employees specializing in HVDC control technology, ensuring effective coordination of personnel planning and team development.
• Strategically develop the team in alignment with market trends and customer requirements.
• Monitor and manage team performance across international projects, ensuring compliance with cost, time, and quality parameters.
• Oversee deployment and training initiatives for employees from collaborating HUBs, CoCs, and CoEs worldwide.
• Conceptualize and outline control technologies for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems, collaborating with relevant departments to drive innovative solutions.
• Manage project responsibilities, including internal and external concept clarification, customer engagement, software development support, documentation, testing, and commissioning of HVDC systems.
• Coordinate cost calculation, offer documentation, and concept clarification for proposals.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering , specializing in energy technology, with extensive professional experience.
• Proven experience in team leadership , project planning , and control technology systems management.
• Strong understanding of converter and high-voltage technology , with comprehensive knowledge of control technology .
• Proficiency in HVDC system technology , automation , protection , and control technology .
• Strong interpersonal skills to manage customer interactions and negotiations effectively.
• Willingness to travel for customer engagements and after-sales operations .
• Full professional proficiency in English ; German proficiency is a plus .
