Role Summary
Shape the future of Export Control & Customs across DACH. Lead a regional team of experts and drive a robust export control and customs framework across multiple countries under the direction of the Head of Finance DACH / VP Finance CFO DACH.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own the Export Control & Customs function across DACH, ensuring full compliance with international trade, customs, and export control regulations.
- Define and execute the regional Export Control & Customs strategy, partnering closely with business and functional stakeholders to support sustainable growth and risk mitigation.
- Build, develop, and lead a high‑performing DACH team, driving capability development, training, awareness, and accountability across the organization.
- Oversee governance, audits and regulatory compliance, including due diligence processes, licensing, screening activities, classifications, and manage internal and external audits.
- Drive process excellence and digital transformation, continuously improving efficiency, standardization, and compliance through innovative customs and export control solutions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership experience in Export Control, Customs, and International Trade Compliance within multinational organisations, managing complex and multi‑country operations.
- Strong expertise in global trade regulations, including Customs, EU & Swiss Export Control, US OFAC, BIS, and other relevant international compliance frameworks.
- Proven people‑leadership skills with experience building, developing, and managing high‑performing teams and coordinating external consultants.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities, successfully partnering with senior leadership, internal customers, and key business functions.
- Strong analytical and project‑management capabilities, with a track record of identifying risks, driving corrective actions, leading strategic initiatives, and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken), with the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical business guidance.
