Head of Credit Risk - €130k + Bonus - Germany

We've partnered with a Global commodity trader to support them in their search for a Head of Credit Risk.

Working closely with Trading, Risk, and Executive Leadership, the Head of Credit will be responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of counterparty credit risk across physical and paper trading activities in multiple jurisdictions.

The mandate spans counterparty credit risk across producers, refiners, utilities, NOCs, financial institutions and logistics providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the global credit function across all regions and asset classes
• Define credit risk appetite, governance frameworks, and delegated authorities
• Oversee credit approvals across physical trading, structured supply agreements, storage contracts, and derivatives exposure
• Partner closely with Trading, Supply, Operations, and Treasury to enable structured transactions
• Mentor a high-performing international credit team

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in commodity trading credit risk
• Proven leadership of multi-jurisdictional credit teams
• Strong understanding of physical commodity flows, storage economics, and supply chain risk
• Strong executive presence and ability to influence at Board/C-Suite level
