Head of Facilities & Utilities Engineering

Stellenbeschreibung:

Head of Facilities & Utilities Engineering

GMP Manufacturing | Northern Germany

Are you an engineer who enjoys taking ownership of critical infrastructure, solving complex technical challenges, and delivering projects that directly impact manufacturing performance?

We're supporting a globally recognised manufacturing organisation operating within a highly regulated GMP environment. Due to continued investment and growth, they are looking to appoint a Head of Facilities & Utilities to take ownership of key utilities and facilities systems supporting a technically complex production operation.

This is not a maintenance role.

This is an opportunity to become the technical owner of critical utility and facility systems, lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, and drive improvements that directly influence reliability, compliance, efficiency, and operational performance.

Why This Opportunity?

You'll join a site where engineering plays a highly visible role within the business.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of critical utilities and facility infrastructure supporting GMP manufacturing
  • Lead capital investment and improvement projects from design through commissioning and qualification
  • Drive reliability, performance, and efficiency improvements across site infrastructure
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and Site Leadership teams
  • Develop into a recognised technical expert within the organisation
  • Build a long‑term career with a business known for internal progression and development

For engineers who enjoy responsibility, problem‑solving, and making a tangible impact, this role offers far more than routine operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of utilities, facilities, and building infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations
  • Management of engineering and capital investment projects
  • Commissioning, qualification, and maintenance of facility and utility systems
  • Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation of critical systems
  • Conducting risk assessments, FMEA, and root cause investigations
  • Supporting GMP compliance and maintaining systems in a qualified state
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
  • Managing contractors, vendors, and technical stakeholders

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with engineers who have experience within:

  • Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
  • Biotechnology
  • Food & Beverage
  • Chemicals
  • Other regulated manufacturing environments

You will likely bring experience in

  • Utilities and facilities engineering
  • HVAC, clean utilities, media systems, or process‑support infrastructure
  • GMP or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Qualification and commissioning activities
  • FMEA, risk assessment, and reliability improvement
  • SAP PM or similar CMMS systems

German and English language skills are required.

The Challenge

The infrastructure under your responsibility is critical to manufacturing operations.

Success requires someone who can balance operational priorities with long‑term improvement projects, navigate a highly regulated environment, and make technically sound decisions that improve reliability, compliance, and performance.

You'll be trusted to take ownership, challenge the status quo, and help shape the future performance of the site's engineering systems.

Interested?

If you're looking for a role that combines technical ownership, project responsibility, operational impact, and long‑term career development within a world‑class manufacturing environment, we'd be delighted to speak with you confidentially.
