Head of Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs – Cosmetic Ingredients (m/f/d)

In this global, strategic leadership role you drive the safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainable innovation of the cosmetic ingredients portfolio. You will lead a diverse team across regions, shaping regulatory strategy, anticipating trends, and defending the industry’s interests with external bodies. Your work ensures compliance, informs business opportunities, and supports growth in a matrix organization. This role offers a chance to influence the regulatory landscape and contribute to global consumer safety at scale.

• Define and execute the global regulatory and product safety strategy for Cosmetic Ingredients
• Lead and inspire a global team of ~30 experts and leaders across regions
• Ensure compliance with evolving chemical, cosmetic, and downstream regulations worldwide
• Anticipate regulatory trends and translate them into business opportunities and risk mitigation
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Innovation, Quality, and Regulatory functions
• Actively represent Symrise in industry associations, regulatory advocacy initiatives, and consortia
• Champion ingredient defense activities and shape future regulatory frameworks

• Advanced degree in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, or equivalent scientific discipline
• Extensive experience in Product Safety, Toxicology and/or Regulatory Affairs within cosmetic ingredients or related industries
• Proven success leading global, multicultural teams and developing leaders
• Strong experience in regulatory advocacy, industry representation, and ingredient defense programs
• Ability to balance scientific rigor, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and commercial priorities
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
