Head of SAP Applications

• Several years of experience working within SAP environments, with a strong understanding of SAP applications and enterprise system landscapes.


• Proven experience leading SAP teams, managing application portfolios, or overseeing SAP-related projects and programmes.


• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and its integration with wider business applications.


• Experience managing SAP application strategy, system roadmaps, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with business leaders, IT management, and external implementation partners.


• Experience managing budgets, resources, service providers, and application-related costs.


• Good understanding of IT service management, system availability, security, and operational stability.


• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions.


• Fluent German and good English communication skills.


• Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes or large-scale ERP implementations.


• Knowledge of SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud, and other solutions within the SAP ecosystem.


• Experience with SAP integration technologies and connecting SAP applications with non-SAP systems.


• Familiarity with SAP cloud solutions and hybrid IT landscapes.


• Experience with IT governance, enterprise architecture, and application lifecycle management.


• Background in business process optimisation and digital transformation.


• Experience managing external SAP partners, consultants, and system integrators.

About the Role

• Take overall responsibility for the SAP applications landscape, ensuring systems are aligned with business objectives and the company's wider IT strategy.


• Develop and implement the SAP applications roadmap, identifying opportunities for modernisation, standardisation, and continuous improvement.


• Lead and develop the SAP applications team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on service quality, innovation, and delivery.


• Oversee the stability, performance, and availability of business-critical SAP applications.


• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritise initiatives, and deliver technology solutions that create measurable business value.


• Manage SAP projects and transformation initiatives, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.


• Coordinate external implementation partners and service providers, ensuring effective delivery and strong commercial management.


• Drive improvements across SAP processes, application support, system integration, and overall user experience.


• Ensure appropriate governance, security, compliance, and lifecycle management across the SAP application portfolio.


• Act as the key point of contact for SAP applications, providing strategic direction while maintaining a strong understanding of operational priorities.
