Instrument Engineer / Engineer Electrical & Instrumentation (m/f/d)

Day In The Life

  • Provide leadership of key digital initiatives pertaining to instrumentation and control
  • Drive continuous improvement of instrumentation and control systems by identifying opportunities through participation in incident investigations, analyzing reliability data and engaging with site engineering
  • Provide technical consultation and direction to the site instrument engineers
  • Provide training on new as well as existing instrumentation and control topics
  • Function as technical lead for instrumentation and control on capital projects being executed within LyondellBasell either at the corporate, regional or site level
    • Provide engineering design and specifications to support procurement and construction activities for projects
    • Review design drawings, engineering specifications and proposals to ensure conformance with relevant standards and practices
    • Serve as technology expert liaison between project engineers, plant personnel and instrument suppliers
    • Interact with engineers and construction contractors, both on-site and off-site
  • Provide instrumentation and control support for Turnaround readiness and scope challenge assessments, and Turnaround execution support
  • Participate in or lead Instrument Technical Network which includes presenting at network meetings and Reliability Forums
  • Ownership of Instrument Standards and Excellence Model Documents

You Bring This Value

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.Sc.), preferably in Electrical Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • At least 8 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proven leadership experience is considered an advantage
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus
  • Strong expertise in the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation and control valves
  • Solid experience in valve diagnostics
  • Proficiency in the use of online asset management systems for instrumentation and valves
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities, with the ability to drive critical global initiatives and effectively communicate complex topics across all organizational levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with both internal and external stakeholders
