Apply for Interim Accounting - SOX Manager at Laetus in Selmsdorf, MV, DE.
Location: Selmsdorf, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany | On-site
About the Role
We’re seeking an Interim Accounting/SOX Manager to lead transitional accounting management activities and strengthen financial control in a SOX-compliant environment. In this role, you’ll design and document cross‑functional accounting processes, validate balance sheet reconciliations, and provide direct operational support to the Accounting Manager to resolve open internal audit findings. This is an opportunity to make a measurable impact in a dynamic, fast‑paced international setting while deepening your expertise across the full accounting cycle. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager, the local accounting team based in Selmsdorf, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure process integrity, audit readiness, and on‑time monthly close execution. Success in this role means all open internal audit points are formally closed, cross‑functional process documentation is complete and operational, and the team consistently meets monthly close deadlines — within 3 to 4 months.
What You’ll Do
- Design and document cross‑functional accounting processes (P2P, Inventory, and adjacent cycles…) to strengthen internal controls and ensure operational consistency across the organization.
- Validate balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the accounting team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP standards.
- Support the Accounting Manager in analyzing, resolving, and formally closing open internal audit findings within agreed timelines.
- Lead monthly close activities by coordinating tasks, monitoring deadlines, and removing blockers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Champion SOX compliance across all accounting processes, embedding control discipline into day‑to‑day team practices.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and other cross‑functional partners to align transversal process documentation with business realities.
- Coach and support the Selmsdorf‑based accounting team to build capability, reinforce best practices, and sustain process improvements beyond the transitional period.
- Analyze existing accounting workflows to identify control gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Veralto standards.
- Implement US GAAP best practices across the full accounting cycle to improve accuracy, consistency, and auditability of financial statements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience in accounting management, including hands‑on experience in transitional, interim, or project‑based accounting roles within complex organizations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP with a proven track record of applying it in a multinational or publicly listed company environment.
- Experience operating in a SOX‑compliant environment, including documentation of controls and support of internal or external audit processes.
- Proven track record of designing and documenting cross‑functional accounting processes such as Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P), Inventory, and related financial cycles.
- Experience with Oracle ERP in an accounting or financial reporting context.
- Collaborative and hands‑on working style with demonstrated ability to work directly alongside an accounting team, bridge communication gaps, and deliver results under deadline pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in resolving internal audit findings and interacting with internal auditors in a multinational setting.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial company environment.
- Familiarity with Veralto, Danaher, or similar public‑company financial governance and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in German, to facilitate direct collaboration with the Selmsdorf‑based team.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Lean) applied to finance and accounting processes.
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is a plus.
