Senior Accounting Manager (Interim / Permanent Option)

The Position

For our Heidelberg site, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to support and strengthen our Finance organization in a highly regulated biologics CDMO environment.

The role can initially be filled on an interim basis, with the possibility to transition into a permanent position. The successful candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with operational understanding of manufacturing environments and the ability to interact confidently with local and international stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations in compliance with HGB and IFRS (in the future)
• Ensure accurate month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities
• Responsible for accurate accounting treatment of manufacturing‑related transactions, accruals, and provisions
• Support financial processes within a GMP‑regulated production environment
• Collaborate closely with Group Finance / Headquarters, Site Leadership and CEO Office
• Manage intercompany accounting and billing processes within an international group structure
• Coordinate and support external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory stakeholders
• Lead Finance process improvements and strengthening of internal controls
• Support SAP‑based finance and accounting activities in a hands‑on manner

Job Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in a Senior Accounting or comparable Finance role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge in HGB and IFRS
• Good understanding of manufacturing finance and operational plant environments
• Experience with intercompany accounting structures in international organizations
• Confident communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders
• Experience managing external audits and tax‑related topics
• Strong SAP knowledge (SAP Business 1) and Excel
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
• Experience in biologics CDMO, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Biotech or Life science
