Interim Finance Director

A well established international manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to support a key finance transformation and organisational restructuring programme within its German operation. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to stabilise a finance function, influence organisational design and support the recruitment and development of a long-term finance team structure. Reporting into the Group CFO, you will act as the senior finance lead for the German business during a period of change. This is a hands‑on assignment requiring a blend of operational finance leadership, industrial controlling expertise and strong stakeholder management.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing leadership and stability across the German finance function
• Assessing existing team capability and identifying development needs
• Supporting finance function redesign and organisational restructuring
• Recruiting and onboarding key permanent finance hires
• Driving improvements across processes, controls and reporting
• Acting as a trusted finance partner to local site leadership and international stakeholders

Manufacturing & Controlling Focus

A significant portion of the role centres around manufacturing finance and operational controlling.

Key areas include:

• Product costing and cost analysis
• Standard costing methodologies
• Manufacturing variance analysis
• Factory and site performance reporting
• Operational finance business partnering

Candidate Profile

• Experienced interim with a background in manufacturing and industrial environments who can quickly establish credibility and drive improvements.
• Deep understanding of product costing and standard costing
• SAP S/4HANA knowledge
• Experience operating in hands‑on leadership roles
• Experience supporting organisations through restructuring or transformation programmes
