We are currently supporting a private equity-backed international B2B SaaS group that is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Head of Accounting.

The business requires a strong and hands‑on accounting leader to stabilise and lead an international team of approximately 15 FTE across Europa. The main focus will be on people management, accountability, process discipline and the continued integration of the accounting organisation following several acquisitions.

The role requires a confident and resilient leader who can set clear expectations, address resistance to change and ensure that the team consistently follows the newly established group processes. Strong SaaS accounting expertise and a sound understanding of the relevant IFRS requirements are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and stabilise an international accounting team across multiple locations
• Establish clear responsibilities, expectations and accountability within the team
• Ensure the reliable delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
• Drive the harmonisation and standardisation of group-wide accounting processes
• Support the continued integration of acquired businesses into the group accounting structure
• Ensure consistent use of the ERP system and reduce manual processes and journal entries
• Support the implementation of functional teams across general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Assess potential outsourcing opportunities for accounts payable and bank reconciliations
• Work closely with senior management and external implementation partners
• Support the accounting organisation during the ongoing NetSuite and LucaNet implementations without taking responsibility for the technical project management

Profile

• Proven leadership experience within accounting or group accounting
• Strong track record of leading and stabilising teams during periods of change
• Hands‑on experience with monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
• Strong IFRS expertise, particularly IFRS
• Relevant experience within B2B SaaS, software or subscription-based business models
• Experience within international multi-entity organisations
• Private equity, buy-and-build or post-merger integration experience
• Strong people management skills and the ability to address resistance and enforce accountability
• Experience leading teams across several locations or remotely
• NetSuite and LucaNet experience would be beneficial but is not essential
• Fluent German and English
