Position Overview

Internal Control & Risk Manager (Hybrid – Berlin-Charlottenburg). Reports to the Head of Accounting & Controlling. Responsible for strengthening Kleinanzeigen’s Internal Control System (ICS/IKS) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, enabling informed decisions and a pragmatic, business‑focused approach to risk and compliance.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in internal controls, internal audit, risk management, or compliance‑related roles, with a solid understanding of ICFR and control frameworks such as COSO; certifications like CIA or CRMA are an advantage.
• Ownership mindset – able to take topics end‑to‑end, work independently and navigate ambiguity while driving initiatives forward with limited guidance.
• Strong communication skills – able to engage stakeholders across the organization, challenge constructively, and build alignment without formal authority.
• Pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset; fluent in English and ideally German.

What you’ll do

• Own and continuously improve Kleinanzeigen’s Internal Control System and Enterprise Risk Management framework, ensuring it remains effective, scalable, and aligned with the business.
• Collaborate closely with central functions to adopt, implement, and localise group‑wide control requirements and standards in a pragmatic way.
• Ensure the design and operating effectiveness of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), aligned with applicable frameworks such as COSO.
• Lead risk and control assessments, identify control gaps, and drive remediation activities through to sustainable implementation with business and control owners.
• Partner with stakeholders across the organization to strengthen risk awareness, foster accountability, and embed effective controls into day‑to‑day operations.
• Monitor evolving risks, provide recommendations for continuous improvement, and support the organization in maintaining a strong control environment.
