Your mission
The External Engagement Coordinator ensures War Child is strategically present, well‑prepared, and effective across external engagements, including events, partnerships, panels, meetings, and speaking opportunities. The role combines strong coordination and logistics with a strategic, forward‑looking mindset, supporting which opportunities to pursue and ensuring War Child shows up with clarity, purpose, and impact. The role brings together people, planning, content, policy, and follow‑up so that every engagement is well executed and learning is captured. Sitting within the War Child Alliance External Engagement Pillar, the role plays a central part in positioning the organisation as a credible partner and a leader in scalable, evidence‑based interventions for children affected by conflict. It coordinates end‑to‑end engagement with key audiences—including governments, donors, foundations, corporates, multilaterals, and global influencers—maximising the value of War Child’s external presence, strengthening relationships, enhancing visibility, and supporting the scaling of solutions that deliver lasting impact for children.
- Create targeted campaigns for institutions, philanthropists, foundations and corporates and produce high‑quality narratives, presentations, pitches, and brand assets.
- Monitor and evaluate impact of strategies.
- Lead logistics and content coordination for War Child’s presence at a range of events including Davos, UNGA and other global events in collaboration with IMT, Advocacy, Communications and Institutional Fundraising, and others as required.
- Lead on and coordinate development of presentations, speaking points, briefing packs and executive materials.
- With support from the wider Communications Team create compelling content for events that highlight War Child as a global leader in children’s mental health, education and protection.
- With support from the wider External Engagement Department, develop targeted thought leadership and engagement initiatives that highlight War Child’s expertise and approaches.
- Support senior leadership and Institutional Funding teams with donor‑ready materials and value propositions.
- Support the War Child Alliance Foundation Engagement Department on shared assets and collaborate on team projects.
Your profile
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
- Experience in delivering B2B marketing.
- Experience supporting senior leaders at high‑level events, e.g. UNGA.
- Excellent writing and content production skills.
- Ability to translate research, programme evidence, and partner‑led insights into compelling narratives.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Experience in humanitarian, development or social impact sectors is desirable.
- Experience with design or digital agencies.
Languages
- Excellent English
- Regional languages desirable
Knowledge
- Understanding of donor ecosystems and evidence‑based programming.
- InDesign, Canva
What we offer
- Location : We work with global teams with members based in different locations. War Child operates in multiple countries and maintains offices in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Preference is given to applicants who reside with valid working permits. War Child does not offer relocation.
- Type of Contract : Local contract with salary and secondary labour conditions based on the in‑country salary scale. Local T&C apply.
