IT Cloud Engineer AWS

In this role you will maintain and advance Hannover Re’s AWS cloud platform, spanning infrastructure and automation. You’ll shape the global AWS Landing Zone and collaborate with internal and external DevOps teams to realize cloud concepts. You ensure security and compliance, advise developers on onboarding and new features, and handle incident, problem, and change management. You also manage relationships with service providers and vendors, contributing to a scalable, secure cloud environment.

• Maintain and develop the AWS cloud platform from infrastructure to automation using Python, CDK, and Terraform
• Shape and manage the global AWS Landing Zone
• Collaborate with internal and external DevOps teams on cloud concepts
• Ensure security and compliance (e.g., CIS framework) and advise developers on onboarding and cloud features
• Handle incident, problem, and change management processes
• Act as supplier manager for service providers and vendors

• Degree in (business) informatics or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience with cloud-based AWS infrastructures
• Understanding of network environments and enthusiasm for agile projects (Scrum, Kanban)
• Knowledge of automation and templating
• Business-fluent German and English for communication with customers and colleagues
• Eager to learn, quick learner, and enjoy team-based solution development
