Lead Enterprise Infrastructure Architect (m/w/d)

Position: Full‑time, permanent, hybrid (up to 5 days remote) with approximately 15% travel, located in Munich.

Role Highlights

  • Strategic development and standardisation of enterprise infrastructure and platform services.

Responsibilities

  • Advance and strategically orient the defined infrastructure and platform services, considering new technology trends and future demands.
  • Develop, establish and continuously refine technical architecture guidelines and standards.
  • Create concepts for standardisation and automation of services to simplify and accelerate provisioning processes.
  • Prepare, review and further develop architecture concepts and technical roadmaps within the defined scope.
  • Analyse and document technical interdependencies between existing services and platforms to provide a unified view of the infrastructure.
  • Support solution architecture development for projects, tenders and complex customer requirements.
  • Produce reference architectures and reusable building blocks as foundations for future services and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Assess new technologies and solutions for their suitability within the current platform landscape.
  • Collaborate closely with business units, architects and technical specialists to agree on and evolve overarching architectural topics.

Qualifications

  • Completed studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a related field, or equivalent professional IT training with relevant experience.
  • Several years of experience designing, evolving and standardising complex infrastructure and platform architectures in enterprise settings.
  • Deep knowledge of hardware management, remote access solutions, and out‑of‑band infrastructures.
  • Practical experience with console servers, KVM technologies and management platforms for critical infrastructure operation.
  • Excellent understanding of modern server platforms, management tools and highly available data centre environments.
  • Experience with hyper‑converged infrastructure, enterprise platforms and powerful server or large‑system environments is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in developing technical target architectures, standards and overarching infrastructure concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp and clearly communicate complex technical relationships.
  • Structured, autonomous and solution‑oriented working style with a high standard of quality.
  • Confident communication in technical discussions and a passion for driving technology initiatives while balancing competing interests.
  • High interest in technological developments and a willingness to critically evaluate and continuously improve existing solutions.
