Loan Officer Assistant "Sales Assistant"

In this position you will support the customer journey from application to initial disclosures, provide an overview of Knock’s products and programs, and assist Loan Officers by seeing customers through to a successful closing.

What You'll Do

• Assist Loan Officers by gathering required documentation to complete the loan application
• Work with borrowers and partners to help borrowers become pre‑approved for the Knock Bridge Loan
• Manage a pipeline of over 200 loan applications per month per loan officer
• Ensure minimum submission requirements and documents are met prior to submitting loans for disclosure
• Follow up on disclosed loans to ensure they are signed in a timely manner
• Assist Loan Officers and Loan Assistants with any borrower requests
• Assist in assigning new loan files to Loan Officers
• Understand TRID guidelines and Loan Estimates
• Work with internal risk and loan officers to ensure loans are properly set up and documented in Encompass
• Provide excellent customer service, with a natural inclination to assist others
• Be a quick study and self‑starter, taking initiative and learning quickly in a remote, tech‑enabled environment
• Be collegially competitive: meet or exceed individual quotas and expected company metrics while sharing lessons learned with teammates
• Respond promptly to internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring no email or voicemail is left unanswered
• Work autonomously, researching answers before asking questions

What You'll Bring

• 1+ year experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator or Sales Assistant (Loan Officer Assistant)
• Active NMLS license or ability to acquire one within the first 90 days of hire
• Experience using Encompass, Meridian Link, Blend, and/or Google Suite
• Comfortable with change and working in a fast‑paced, fully remote startup environment
• A team player and fantastic communicator (written and verbal)
• Ability to review and interpret internal guidelines
• Process‑oriented with a keen eye for detail
• Commitment to diverse, equitable, and inclusive practices that support Knock’s mission
• Proven success working 100% remote in prior positions and experience working with a distributed national team
• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Set up and operate a computer
• Communicate accurate information via telephone or video applications

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $51,000–$56,000 USD. The role is eligible for an uncapped incentive plan. On‑target earnings are $72,000 USD, performance‑based and not guaranteed.
