Logistics Specialist Trainee, Data Center Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This role is part of a 12‑month Work‑Based Learning Program in a Frankfurt data center. Upon completion, employees may transition to full‑time employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review data center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand.
  • Handle incoming shipments, including unpacking, performing checks, and updating material tracking databases.
  • Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check‑out parts as needed to data center technicians and engineers.
  • Keep accurate records of material movements.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure proper stock levels for builds and repairs.
  • Operate the Return Merchandise Authorization process and receive replacements.
  • Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick‑ups to and from various locations.
  • Keep precise records of all commodities moving in and out of the company.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workspaces.
  • Frequent lifting of materials and products, placing items in storage, managing parts in shelving and pallet locations, extracting and moving parts from site‑specific areas.

Job Details

This role is full‑time (40 hours per week) and requires travel to multiple sites as part of daily operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
  • Age 18 or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in spoken, written, and read English, with ability to follow instructions in English.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with a manager.
