The Opportunity

This position is based in Wiesbaden, Germany, within Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC), a global leader in diabetes management solutions. As Manager E-Commerce Operations & Projects (m/f/d), you will join the Business Operations team and report to the Senior Manager E-Commerce. In this role, you will serve as a key link between regional e-commerce teams, business functions, IT delivery teams, development partners, and external service providers. You will ensure the successful day-to-day operation of our e-commerce platforms while driving continuous improvements, supporting new web shop launches, and delivering scalable digital solutions that support Abbott's Direct-to-Patient (DTP) strategy. By combining operational excellence with strong project and stakeholder management, you will help optimize digital sales channels, drive business growth, and deliver a seamless end-to-end experience for customers and patients across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the successful day-to-day operation, performance, and continuous improvement of Abbott Diabetes Care's e-commerce platforms and digital channels in collaboration with IT delivery teams, country e-commerce teams, and external service providers.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, regional e-commerce teams, IT functions, development partners, and third-party vendors, ensuring effective collaboration across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple concurrent e-commerce initiatives, including webshop enhancements, platform optimizations, and new webshop launches, while managing activities across all project phases from requirements gathering and planning through testing, implementation, and post-launch support.
  • Gather, analyze, prioritize, and document business requirements, translating business needs into clear and actionable solutions in partnership with development, operations, and delivery teams.
  • Monitor platform performance and support the effective management of end-to-end e-commerce processes, including product catalog, ordering, payment, invoicing, distribution, fulfillment, and related back-office integrations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute testing activities with business stakeholders, country teams, IT teams, and external partners to ensure high-quality and successful solution delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the customer and patient journey, drive innovation, and support the continued growth of Abbott's Direct-to-Patient (DTP) business and digital sales channels.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), IT teams, regional stakeholders, and external providers to enable operational excellence, business growth, and scalable digital commerce solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Postgraduate diploma or university degree in Engineering, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Media Informatics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including experience in online and e-commerce environments with exposure to the implementation, utilization, and commercialization of IT solutions.
  • Action- and solution-oriented, with a self-driven, proactive, and hands‑on approach.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen awareness of timelines and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with strong business acumen and the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven experience leading and coordinating internal IT delivery teams and managing external service providers in both operational and project environments, including onsite, nearshore, and offshore models.
  • Experience developing and improving processes and quality standards across omni-channel and digital retail customer journeys.
  • Ability to gather, document, and analyze business requirements and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, a high level of accountability, and experience working in international teams.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and technologies such as Magento, Commercetools, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), or similar solutions.
  • Experience in a mass-market or consumer-oriented environment.
  • Practical experience with web, portal, and related digital technologies.
  • German language skills and/or additional European language capabilities.
