Manager Process & Tool Engineering

We are supporting a well-established, medium-sized manufacturing company in the OWL region with the search for a Manager Process & Tool Engineering to lead and develop their Process & Tool Engineering function.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to shape processes, not just manage them - in a company with flat hierarchies, fast decision-making, and real influence over how a traditional site transforms for the future.

The Role

You will take technical and disciplinary leadership of three departments, approx. 30 employees in total:

• Tool Manufacturing & Prototyping – tool manufacturing, prototype development and small-batch production
• Assembly Engineering – development, design and testing of in-house assembly equipment
• Process Engineering & Tool Design – process development and optimization, Lean Management, continuous improvement and tool design

Reporting directly into the Plant Manager, you'll take ownership of the optimization, standardization and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, drive the industrialization of new products from prototype through to serial production, and build a sustainable CIP/Lean culture across the department.

• Lead and develop three technical departments (~30 employees)
• Optimize, standardize and continuously improve production and manufacturing processes
• Establish and grow a sustainable Continuous Improvement (CIP) and Lean Management culture
• Industrialize new products from prototype phase through to start of serial production
• Manage technical projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality targets
• Own budget planning, economic feasibility analyses and investment decision support
• Collaborate closely with Production, R&D, Quality and other cross-functional departments

What You Bring

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of leadership experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical environment — experience in Production or Maintenance is a strong plus
• Strong expertise in production optimization, Lean Management and project management
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, combined with a structured, results-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset
