Job Overview

Modern Family Law, a rapidly expanding national law firm specializing in Family Law, is seeking an experienced Managing Attorney to lead our Petaluma office. This hybrid role requires residency within driving distance of Petaluma, CA.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, productivity, and profitability of the Petaluma office.

Lead, mentor, and develop legal staff through training, motivation, and support.

Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HR on recruitment and policy compliance.

Coordinate with other leaders to ensure cross‑departmental support.

Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice on family law matters.

Represent clients in court, prepare legal documents, and negotiate settlements.

Qualifications

Five (5) or more years of devoted Family Law experience.
Must live within commuting distance to the Petaluma, CA office.
Skilled in mentoring and leading a team, while fostering collaboration.
Exceptional writing and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a client‑focused mindset.
Proficient in client counseling, case preparation, case management, and courtroom representation.
Clear and effective verbal and written legal communication.
Able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Committed to delivering excellent client service.
Active admission to the California State Bar.

Benefits

Compensation: Salary range is $220,000 - $320,350. Additionally, a $25,000 signing bonus and relocation package are offered. The structure presented is a reliable estimate of the base salary plus potential commissions based on billable hours and collections. Full‑time employees are eligible for health insurance with optional Health Savings Account (HSA), short‑term disability, long‑term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts, 401(k) retirement plan, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
