Role Description
As an ML Research Engineer at Pruna AI, you will be instrumental in integrating and optimizing cutting‑edge machine learning compression methods. We are looking for talented individuals at all levels of seniority who are passionate about AI and sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:
Compression Integration
- Understand and implement compression methods from open‑source projects and research papers
- Integrate these methods into our compression tool, ensuring they are user‑friendly and effective
- Adapt and extend successful methods to support various architectures and use‑cases
Customer Support and Reliability
- Provide support to customers, especially in the early stages, and swiftly resolve issues as they arise
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability and robustness of the compression tool
People you will work with
- ML Research Engineers: Collaborate on refining, implementing, and combining compression methods
- MLOps Engineers: Scale your work, manage experimentation setups, pipelines, and testing environments
- Go‑to‑Market Team: Technical qualification of incoming sales and partnership deals, assist on messaging for value proposition and translating key metrics into customer value
Your Skills
Educational background or Experience
- A M.Sc./Ph.D. in computer science, or equivalent experience in software engineering with a focus on machine learning
Machine Learning expertise
- Strong foundational knowledge in machine learning algorithms and statistical methods
- Expertise in the PyTorch deep learning framework
- Expertise in the Python programming language
Research and Development
- Ability to read, understand, and critique research publications
- Experience in formalizing and conceptualizing new research ideas
Personal attributes
- Strong communication skills to convey complex research ideas
- Creative, collaborative, and innovation-focused
- Strong sense of project ownership and personal responsibility
- Passionate about making AI accessible to everyone
It is a plus if you have
- Experience with compression methods like quantization, pruning, and compilation
- Ability to interpret and implement research ideas and algorithm
- The capacity to work from Munich or Paris
- Additional programming skills (e.g., Triton, C++)
Expected Salary and Benefits
Salary: We pay top market rates based on seniority and location, leveraging publicly available data that we share with you during the process.
