To strengthen our team, we are seeking a candidate for the Application Operations division, specifically for the Database and Application Services Competence Center at our Düsseldorf and Leipzig locations, to start as soon as possible in Pay Grade 11 (EntgO-DRV):

The Database and Application Services Competence Center is responsible for the planning, design, deployment, operation, maintenance, and support of the database and application services used at NOW IT GmbH, taking into account the existing infrastructure and system interfaces. The scope of database services includes the widely used database management systems (DBMS) Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.

As an MS SQL Database Administrator (f/m/d), you will support us in the following areas, among others:

  • planning and designing MS SQL installations, including
  • deployment, operation (including maintenance, monitoring, and support),
  • further development of MS SQL installations and driving automation forward,
  • participating in topic-specific working groups and project teams within the NOW IT network and at DRV-IT

Your Qualifications:

You hold a completed (technical) university degree in computer science (Bachelor of Science) or have a comparable relevant degree (e.g., business informatics, media informatics) at Level 6 of the German Qualifications Framework. Applications may also be considered from individuals who, without a formal degree—for example, through vocational training as an IT specialist— IT Specialist, can perform the relevant duties based on proven equivalent skills and many years of relevant professional experience, or who, based on your vocational training and career history, are demonstrably capable of performing the advertised position.

In both cases, you must also have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server clusters.

In addition, we are looking for the following from you:

  • Knowledge in the field of relational database management systems
  • Expertise in the Windows Server operating system
  • Programming and scripting languages, such as PowerShell and T-SQL
  • Knowledge of the Git version control system
