Navigation Systems Engineer (d/f/m)

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Navigation Systems Engineer to support the Airbus Navigation Department in Manching. The role involves design and analysis activities, managing interfaces between systems, and supporting the overall aircraft design as part of the Eurodrone, Tornado and future military programmes.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of Navigation Systems for operational concepts
• Definition of requirements documents and technical specifications
• V&V activities: preparation of test procedures, performing and monitoring tests, and analysing test results and reports
• Contribution to the execution of program milestones and reviews
• Support the whole design process
• Support qualification and certification activities

Qualifications

• Master's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, or a comparable discipline
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a related field
• Desirable background: aircraft avionics or navigation systems, software test engineering, requirements‑based engineering, equipment or system‑level development
• Proven experience in airborne navigation systems (e.g., GNSS, Galileo, GPS, MMR)
• Good knowledge of aeronautical regulations such as ARP‑4754, DO‑178, DO‑254, DO‑160
• Analytical thinking, independent working style, and strong communication skills
• Ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary team
• Ability to interface with many different stakeholders from various domains and countries
• Negotiation level in English
