Job Description

GDIT is in need of a Network Firewall Administrator to support our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The Network Firewall Administrator is responsible for the implementation of network firewalls across coalition and mission partner networks. They configure and troubleshoot firewalls, resolve connectivity issues, and monitor, manage, and troubleshoot perimeter security devices such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, routers, and switches. Firewall change requests are implemented, and existing devices—including Cisco ASA 5500 and Firepower 2100/4100, as well as Cisco IOS/IOS‑XE/CatOS based routers and switches—are supported. Network management tools and packet captures are used to resolve operational issues. The role supports Security Computer Incident Response Teams by implementing IP address denials as directed and interfaces with end‑users, systems administrators, and engineers for scheduling and implementing firewall modifications.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring security system logs and status, performing daily tuning of firewall and IPS tools, troubleshooting and performing health checks on multiple perimeter security devices, applying system patches and device reboots, updating architecture diagrams using Visio, coordinating outage notifications, maintaining standard operating procedures and guides, and creating and maintaining system documentation and architecture diagrams to support the RMF accreditation process.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Security Clearance: Secret Level Security Clearance with an SSBI/T5 investigation.
• Education: BA/BS, 5+ years experience.
• Certification: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1; must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
• CCNA Security required; CCNP Security preferred.
• Skills & Experience: First‑hand experience supporting the monitoring and configuration of Firewall/DMZ infrastructure including network and application firewall packet filtering technologies; basic knowledge in configuring Cisco switches.
• Must be able to meet German TESA requirements.

TESA Requirements

• A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, or an associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, or a major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, or 11 years of recent specialized experience.

Position Details

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours.

Travel Required: 10-25%.

Telecommuting Options: Onsite.

Work Location: DEU Wiesbaden - Wiesbaden Army Airfield (APC180).

Salary Range: $102,000 - $138,000. Compensation is based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. International assignment total compensation may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits.
