NEWSCAST PRODUCER (NIGHTSIDE) - KOLN

Job Summary

Are you a detail-oriented, creative journalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment? The 10/11 News team is seeking an Evening Newscast Producer to lead our market-leading newscasts at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The producer will craft compelling, visually engaging newscasts that inform and connect with our audience on all platforms, and will be cross-trained to produce content for social media, website, and streaming desk.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. evening newscasts.
• Produce content for social media, website, and streaming desk.
• Write conversationally for TV and with AP Style for digital.
• Research news, confirm tips beyond press releases, and exercise critical thinking.
• Manage time effectively to meet deadline pressure and maintain accuracy, especially in breaking news.
• Utilize CMS, newscast producing, and editing technology.
• Engage with the audience via digital platforms, maintaining a responsible presence.
• Collaborate with the news team and support a team-oriented culture.
• Adapt to changing media landscape and embrace new technologies and innovations.
• Work flexible hours and shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Preferred: College degree in journalism or a related field.
• At least one year of newsroom or producing experience.
• Strong research, news judgment, and critical thinking skills.
• Time management skills and ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy.
• Adaptability, creativity, and a positive attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of CMS and digital platforms is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
• Some experience with writing tests may be required.
