Job Description – Order Management Specialist (Moulding & Hot Runner)

Role Summary

The Order Management Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely creation of material/product codes and customer orders for the moulding and hot runner business. Based on-site in Germany, this role serves as the key operational link between plant stakeholders in Germany and offshore delivery teams in India and Romania, ensuring order data is accurate, exceptions are resolved efficiently, and the end-to-end order management process runs smoothly.

A strong technical background is essential to understand product configurations, engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and specifications related to mould and hot runner components.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain material/product codes and accurately set up customer orders within the ERP/Order Management system.
• Validate technical order inputs, including:
• Product configurations
• Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Technical specifications
• Verify mould, tooling, and hot runner product information before releasing orders.
• Collaborate closely with on-site stakeholders, including:
• Planning
• Procurement
• Resolve order discrepancies and clarify technical requirements.
• Coordinate daily activities with offshore teams in India and Romania, ensuring smooth handovers, SLA adherence, prioritization, and query resolution.
• Manage order exceptions and escalations from initiation through closure while providing regular stakeholder updates.
• Maintain high standards of data quality and process compliance.
• Identify and implement improvements to order creation and product code management processes.
• Prepare operational reports, status updates, and performance metrics for local and global leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Technical qualification (Engineering Degree, Diploma, Technician certification, or equivalent hands-on technical experience).
• 7–12 years of experience in the mould, tooling, or hot runner industry .
• Retired professionals with relevant expertise are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to:
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Understand product structures and BOMs
• Work with technical product specifications
• Hands-on experience with:
• Order Management
• Customer Order Creation
• ERP systems
• Strong professional communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work full-time on-site at the Balingen manufacturing plant.
• Comfortable working with multicultural and geographically distributed teams across different time zones.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of leading hot runner suppliers and manufacturing workflows.
• Experience coordinating with offshore or nearshore delivery centres, particularly in India and Romania .
