Order Management Specialist

Based on-site in Germany, the Order Management Specialist owns the accurate and timely creation of material/product codes and customer orders for the moulding and hot runner business. The role is the operational link between plant stakeholders in Germany and the offshore delivery teams in India and Romania, ensuring order data is correct at source, exceptions are resolved quickly, and the end-to-end order flow runs smoothly. A technical background is essential to interpret product configurations, drawings and specifications used across mould and hot runner components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and maintain material / product codes and set up customer orders accurately in the ERP/order management system.
• Validate technical order inputs – configurations, drawings, BOMs and specifications for mould, tooling and hot runner products – before order release.
• Work on-site with plant stakeholders (sales, engineering, planning, procurement) to clarify requirements and resolve order discrepancies.
• Coordinate day-to-day with the India and Romania teams, aligning on hand-offs, priorities, SLAs and query resolution.
• Own order exceptions and escalations end-to-end, driving them to closure and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Maintain data quality and process compliance; identify and drive improvements in the code- and order-creation workflow.
• Prepare operational status updates and reporting for local and joint leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical background (technician / engineering diploma or degree, or equivalent hands‑on technical experience).
• 7-12 years experience(open to retired professional) prior experience in the mould / tooling and hot runner industry – able to read technical drawings and understand product structures.
• Hands‑on experience in order management, code creation and order creation within an ERP environment.
• German at C2 level (fluent, near-native) plus strong professional English.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site at the Balingen plant.
• Comfortable working with distributed, multicultural teams across time zones.

PREFERRED / DESIRABLE

• Familiarity with hot runner suppliers, mould components and related manufacturing processes.
• Experience coordinating with offshore / nearshore delivery centres (India / Romania).

Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset and clear stakeholder communication.
