Job Description:

The Pastor of Discipleship & Groups provides overall pastoral leadership for Community Gospel Church’s discipleship pathway and leadership pipeline, including primary oversight of Small Groups, Men’s Ministry, and Connections. This role ensures people are not only connected to the church but formed into mature followers of Jesus through Scripture, community, and ongoing discipleship rhythms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pastoral leadership and vision for Small Groups; recruit, train, shepherd, and multiply small group leaders
• Provide pastoral leadership for Men’s Ministry, moving it from events into consistent discipleship rhythms
• Oversee the full assimilation pathway: guest to attender to disciple to leader
• Identify, recruit, and develop emerging leaders across ministries, building a culture of multiplication rather than maintenance

We hold to the EFCA Statement of Faith and are looking specifically for a candidate who reads Scripture through a Reformed/covenantal framework rather than a dispensational one.

Compensation: approximately $65,000-$70,000 total annual package (base salary plus housing allowance), commensurate with experience.

Position Qualifications:

• Mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and deep love for the local church
• Commitment to Scripture as authoritative and sufficient; Reformed/covenantal theological framework (not dispensational)
• Proven experience in discipleship, group leadership, or leadership development
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and multiply volunteer leaders
• Strong pastoral presence with capacity for relational shepherding
• Experience working within a collaborative pastoral team
