Principal Corporate Counsel

As Principal Legal Counsel, you’ll support Cisco’s Sales teams in Germany and Switzerland from Frankfurt (Eschborn) or Munich (Garching). You’ll negotiate complex technology and service agreements with enterprise and public-sector customers, aligning terms with Cisco policies and local laws. You’ll advise on data protection, security, and regulatory issues, acting as a trusted business partner to sales, finance, and government affairs. You’ll lead cross‑functional projects and deliver trainings to strengthen compliance and commercial capabilities. This is an influential role in a dynamic, global legal team.

• Negotiate complex commercial, technology, and service agreements with large enterprise and public-sector customers in Germany/Switzerland
• Adapt terms to local laws and templates (Cisco or customer templates)
• Provide guidance on data protection, security, and related topics in collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Ensure governance, compliance, and COBC standards across deals
• Act as business partner to Sales, Finance, and Government Affairs
• Lead cross-functional projects as a legal SME and contribute to strategic initiatives
• Develop and deliver presentations and trainings on compliance and regulatory topics for Sales and local management

• Minimum 5 years of commercial and corporate experience from a top law firm or multinational legal department
• Excellent written and verbal English and German; French or other European languages a plus
• Experience negotiating complex commercial contracts for large enterprises and public/state entities
• Extensive knowledge of technology contracts (IP, software licensing, cloud/SaaS, managed services), data protection, security, and potentially AI
• Judgment to advise on regulatory and compliance matters for a multinational operation
• Proven track record of driving change and leading impactful legal projects
