Overview

DTAS Strategic Advisory Consulting (Life Sciences Supply Chain & Operations) – a part of IQVIA, a leading global provider of clinical research and insights, seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal to lead consulting engagements for life sciences clients in Europe, focusing on commercial supply chain & operations.

Role Summary

As a senior leadership member, you will shape strategy, drive business development, and ensure high‑quality project delivery for pharmaceutical and biotech clients across manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain transformation.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a regional consulting team focused on supply chain & operations.
• Define go‑to‑market strategy and develop new service offerings complementing existing clinical and commercial consulting.
• Act as principal owner of consulting engagements – deliver client satisfaction and high‑quality, value‑added solutions.
• Lead project teams on manufacturing network strategy, S&OP and supply planning, commercial distribution strategy, biotech expansion, CGT scaling, and other operational excellence initiatives.
• Drive growth of the practice through business development, proposal development, and senior client relationship building.
• Publish thought leadership, such as white papers and industry forum presentations.
• Mentor and develop consultants and managers and foster a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in management consulting or relevant industry roles with a strong focus on pharmaceutical/biotech supply chain and operations.
• Prior consulting experience at Principal/Director level or higher; proven track record of leading complex projects in manufacturing strategy, supply chain transformation, or operational excellence.
• Deep knowledge of pharma supply chain trends, including manufacturing network design, outsourced manufacturing models, distribution channels, regulatory requirements in Europe, and cell & gene therapy logistics.
• Strong commercial focus on launched product supply chains – demand forecasting, inventory management, product launch supply planning, and lifecycle cost management.
• Leadership and client relationship skills – ability to engage senior executives and close deals.
• Analytical and data skills – proficiency in data‑driven approaches, advanced analytics, and modeling for network optimization and S&OP planning.
• MBA or advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Life Sciences; APICS or other supply chain certifications are a bonus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to distill complex operational issues into clear, actionable strategies.
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in German and/or other European languages is a plus.
• Willingness to travel across Europe (~30% expected).
