Principal Product Application Engineer (m/f/d) - SiC

Role Overview

As a Principal Product Application Engineer (m/f/d), you will work on developing and validating advanced SiC-based solutions, turning cutting‑edge semiconductor technology into real‑world applications. You will collaborate with global teams, support customers, and help drive new products to market, combining hands‑on engineering with strong application insight.

Responsibilities

• Design power electronics platforms using SiC technologies.
• Run and analyze testing and validation of power systems.
• Build demo systems and present solutions to customers.
• Support product go‑to‑market and customer design‑in activities.
• Create and deliver technical presentations, training, and webinars.
• Help shape next‑generation semiconductor performance through application insights.
• Support device testing, characterization, and modelling.
• Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and universities.
• Work in a global, multicultural team.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. degree or higher in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in the semiconductor industry with a focus on power applications (WBG preferred).
• Strong experience in hardware design for SiC, GaN, and IGBT applications.
• Knowledge of thermal and mechanical design, gate driving, and inductance optimization.
• Skilled in measurements, testing, and high‑voltage laboratory environments.
• Solid experience with PCB design, simulation, and power module design.
• Ability to connect device physics, converter design, and customer needs.
• Good communication skills; fluent in English (German is a plus).
• Hands‑on approach and willingness to travel occasionally.
