Location: Munich, Germany

Our client is a leading mid-market private equity investor with a strong presence across the DACH region and broader European market. The fund invests across a range of sectors, partnering with management teams to support growth, operational improvement, and value creation initiatives.

The team is seeking an Associate to join its Munich office and play an active role across the full investment lifecycle, from origination and execution through to portfolio management and exits. This is a generalist investment role offering exposure to a diverse range of industries and transaction types.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess new investment opportunities across the DACH region and wider Europe
• Develop detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and investment cases
• Conduct commercial, financial, and operational due diligence alongside external advisors
• Support transaction execution, including financing processes, negotiations, structuring, and documentation
• Prepare investment committee materials and presentations for senior stakeholders
• Monitor portfolio company performance and support value creation initiatives
• Work closely with management teams on strategic projects, bolt-on acquisitions, growth initiatives, and operational improvements
• Conduct sector research and market analysis to identify attractive investment themes
• Assist with portfolio exits, including sponsor-to-sponsor transactions, trade sales, and public market processes

Candidate Profile

• 2–5 years of experience within Investment Banking (M&A, Leveraged Finance, or Industry Coverage), Private Equity, Transaction Services, or a related investment environment
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
• Experience working on live M&A transactions and complex financial analyses
• Excellent commercial judgement and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Fluent German and English language skills preferred
• Demonstrated interest in investing, private equity, and the DACH market
