As a municipal agency of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Umweltbetrieb Bremen is responsible for various municipal services. These include, in particular, the planning, construction, and maintenance of green spaces and public parks, as well as the city’s 13 cemeteries, public funeral services, the operation of a crematorium, and the municipal wastewater disposal system. With approximately 400 employees, we are deeply committed to providing and further developing services for the City of Bremen.

As part of the management team, you will shape the digitalization strategy and process optimization for Umweltbetrieb Bremen.

We are seeking, to start as soon as possible, initially on a fixed-term basis as a maternity and parental leave replacement, a full-time (generally suitable for part-time)

- Pay Grade 13 TVöD VKA-

Your responsibilities:

  • As a staff function reporting to the executive management, you will serve as the central point of contact for the executive management and department heads regarding digitalization, process management, and quality management
  • Through the digitalization of work processes and adaptation of the system landscape, you will shape the future and drive the transformation across the diverse areas of responsibility within the environmental services department in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • You will independently manage and coordinate digitalization projects, project controlling, and reporting
  • You will be responsible for implementing process management throughout the entire organization, promoting internal business process optimization, and actively contributing to the establishment of new processes
  • You will also oversee the central management and further development of the quality management system (QM) and internal QM processes, including the conduct of internal audits

Your Profile:

  • You hold a university degree in business administration (Diploma or Master’s), preferably with a focus on IT and engineering
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in project and process management, preferably in the public sector
  • You demonstrate a strong affinity for IT and expertise in digital system landscapes
  • You enjoy working in project teams and have experience taking on responsibility in projects
  • You possess strong analytical and conceptual skills, as well as a results-oriented, structured, and independent work style
  • You impress with your communication skills as well as your strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Your written and spoken German proficiency corresponds to at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
