Procurement Excellence Manager (m/f/d) - Sustainability

As Procurement Excellence Manager (m/f/d) – Sustainability, you are responsible for integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into B. Braun’s procurement framework. You drive sustainability and ethical sourcing across the supply chain by aligning procurement strategies with ESG objectives and by collaborating with internal functions and external partners. Acting as the central ESG point of contact within Procurement and Subcontracting Management, you lead sustainability initiatives, support ESG enablement for procurement teams and suppliers, and continuously improve processes to strengthen responsible supplier partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Integrate ESG requirements into procurement strategies, processes, and tools to enhance environmental and social responsibility across the value chain.
• Ensure compliance with key regulations (e.g., LKSG, CSDDD, EUDR) by identifying gaps and implementing due‑diligence, reporting, and training measures.
• Serve as the central ESG contact within Procurement, ensuring consistent standards and reducing compliance risks.
• Drive ESG improvement initiatives that balance sustainability, innovation, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Develop and deliver ESG training and enablement programs for procurement teams and suppliers.
• Monitor and report ESG performance using tools such as Integrity Next and EcoVadis to support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Partner with business units and leadership to align procurement excellence with corporate ESG objectives and secure stakeholder buy‑in.

Expertise

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sustainability, or ESG‑related roles; experience in ESG consulting is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of ESG principles, sustainable procurement, responsible sourcing, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing ESG strategies, including supplier engagement, risk assessment, due diligence, and compliance monitoring.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate across functions and with suppliers.
• Experience in developing ESG training and capability‑building programs.
• Analytical, results‑driven mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in procurement and sustainability tools as well as ESG reporting.
• Fluency in English and German.
