PROCUREMENT LEAD Powertrain

Full‑time onsite position in Böblingen, Germany. The Procurement Lead will own a procurement category in Powertrain end‑to‑end, leading strategy, sourcing and supplier relationship management to ensure the right parts are available in the right place at the right time.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all procurement activities related to the selected category Powertrain.
  • Identify and source components and systems with the best technical and commercial fit.
  • Prepare, coordinate and execute sourcing decisions for selected commodities and full category, ensuring cross‑functional alignment.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure balanced commercial terms, considering technical feasibility, volume, quality and manufacturing requirements.
  • Meet project targets for material and tooling cost and timeline.
  • Monitor global supply market changes affecting the business.
  • Develop and align category strategies with global supply developments and internal requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate and countermeasure risks associated with the supply chain.
  • Manage raw‑material fluctuations with suppliers and across the category.
  • Establish and secure reliable supply chains during serial production.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in developing and delivering the transition strategy from project to operation.
  • Help drive and deliver procurement activities during the project phase through close cooperation with cost engineers.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Commercial and Industrialisation teams to agree future demand plans, materials and equipment.
  • Network with the wider INEOS organisation to maximise group leverage possibilities.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience at a Tier1/2 automotive supplier or OEM, with direct knowledge of automotive procurement from concept through industrialisation to operation, focused on Powertrain.
  • Significant automotive supply‑chain and procurement know‑how gained over a long career in automobile manufacturing.
  • Excellent project‑management skills with a track record of delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining senior supplier relationships.
  • Strategic procurement experience and/or NPI (New Product Introduction).
  • Strong prioritisation, time‑management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel will be significant.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills; SAP experience desirable.
  • English language mandatory; German beneficial.
