Project Manager GE LEO Constellation Ground Segment and Operation (m/w/d)
Future Programmes & Services (TCADN) within Space Digital (DACH) is responsible for implementation of satellite communication projects with a strong operation / service focus, as well as business development in close relation with sales. Our customers are primarily from the military/government sector, and our products include satellite and land‑based communication networks and the necessary infrastructure (ground stations, data centers, software solutions), as well as operational services with an End‑to‑End responsibility.
As Project Manager for GE LEO Constellation Ground Segment and Operation, you will be responsible for the successful planning, implementation, and long‑term operation of the entire system. You will be the central point of contact for all stakeholders within Airbus and towards subcontractors/partners, and ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and to the full satisfaction of the customer.
Your Location: Airbus Site in Taufkirchen or Friedrichshafen / Immenstaad.

Responsibilities
- Planning, managing, and monitoring projects from conception to completion.
- Secure successful campaign as responsible program representative including realistic costing, implementation schedule and risk assessment.
- Define project goals, scope, resources, and schedules.
- Lead interdisciplinary project teams and assign tasks.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues.
- Communicate with external and internal stakeholders to understand and meet their needs.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and processes.
- Ensure the expected project outcome (P/L accountability).
- Prepare project reports and presentations towards management.
- Continuously improve project management methods and processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and subcontractors.
- Take on business development tasks for the assigned area.
Qualifications
- University degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in project management, ideally in the defense and space sectors.
- Experience as satellite‑based ground segment project or program manager including definition of procurement strategy.
- Technical experience with regard to LEO constellation architecture with E2E aspects would be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and experience in stakeholder management.
- Leadership experience and the ability to motivate teams.
- Results and cost awareness.
- Excellent written and spoken English and the willingness to learn German at C2 level.
- Proficient in project management tools and methods.
- Independent, structured, and solution‑oriented work style.
- Team spirit and resilience.
