Property Facultative Underwriter / Senior Underwriter (d/f/m)

For the International Facultative unit, we are seeking to appoint a Property Facultative Underwriter / Senior Underwriter (d/f/m) based in our Cologne office starting as soon as possible.

Your Role

Assessing and underwriting risks, with a focus on profitability across Property, Energy, and Engineering lines.
Structuring and pricing non-proportional reinsurance solutions (excess layers), including the analysis and evaluation of natural catastrophe exposures.
Developing value-adding concepts for facultative program business.
Managing key accounts: actively developing and nurturing national and international client relationships at both technical and executive levels.
Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating primary insurance markets while contributing to strategic portfolio growth initiatives.
Engaging in technical discussions with clients and presenting at industry events or internal training sessions.
Participating in cross-branch projects.

Your Profile

Degree in insurance, engineering, or a related field; alternatively, relevant vocational training with advanced professional qualifications.
Experience in underwriting or risk engineering preferred.
A strong inclination for customer- and team-oriented work, and a willingness to travel.
Entrepreneurial thinking, team spirit, agility, and openness to new ideas.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex issues.
Fluency in German and/or English with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Confident use of standard MS Office programs, especially Excel.
