Regional Sales Director - West

About the Role

Provide leadership to the sales and marketing efforts, develop and implement the company’s strategic sales plan, analyze market conditions, competitive forces, regulatory requirements and changes, customer and market needs, and determine the sales resources required to meet revenue targets. Primary focus on selling, evaluating pricing and cost analysis, strong communication with, and ownership of the relationship with the distribution partner, and regular updates to management.

This position promotes all company and related subsidiary and affiliate company brands by supporting and managing sales operations within the region. The role supports the region in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies, meeting quarterly goals, and providing guidance and training to teams.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Manage multiple markets (AZ, NV, NM, MT, CO), lead and manage sales, oversee the sales team, and maintain the distribution partner relationship.
  • Develop, manage, forecast, and drive regional revenue through the annual operating plan (AOP), including full budget ownership and accountability. Work cross‑functionally with internal teams to set and achieve goals and motivate distribution partners to execute strategies and deliver against revenue targets.
  • Ensure the development and execution of differentiated market strategies for each market through support of each market’s core team, including activities such as product launch support, new product roll‑out, and opportunistic growth recommendations.
  • Monitor individual competitor pricing and promotional strategies and recommend pricing adjustments as needed.
  • Develop key account strategy in all partner states and build relationships with buyers and other influencers within key accounts.
  • Develop and manage promotional and discount strategies with partners.
  • Develop a competitive intelligence system to uncover and share market information with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Own P&L and budgets for states within the region. Lead teams to meet budgets and exceed revenue goals.
  • Work closely with Regional Field Trade and Marketing Managers and sales teams to identify store activations, visits, visual execution, events, and training needs and build a plan to meet those needs.
  • Travel expectation: 50 %.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibility in the Sales department and includes direct reports. The employee has authority to hire and fire other employees, and their recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees carry significant weight.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 + years of people‑management experience, with a proven ability to lead, model, train, mentor, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams on vendor partner relationships and consultative selling methods.
  • Experience and knowledge of selling premium quality grade products and managing a broad portfolio of products.
  • Data‑driven mindset and experience with different sales and data systems.
  • Prior cannabis sales experience preferred.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Prior CPG experience with strong analytical experience.

  • Flexible schedule and ability to work some weekends and evenings.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work environment is frequently field‑based, involving travel to dispensaries, pop‑up events, and other marketing and promotional activities. The employee must be able to drive a company sprinter van over long distances, set up heavy equipment, move boxes and merchandise, lift up to 35 pounds, stand, and talk for up to four hours at a time. The role requires a secure home office setup for computer, virtual meetings, email, and phone usage.
