Research Scientist Biologics

Overview

Contribution to multidisciplinary teams with own scientific expertise to achieve corporate and customer goals of challenging drug discovery projects within biologics early drug development

Establishing and managing research projects as project scientist including independent planning and execution of research projects

Development, execution, and optimization of protein productions for downstream applications (fit-for-purpose)

Characterization and evaluation of drug candidates by state of the art biochemical and biophysical methods

Evaluation of new technology/ equipment to constantly improve biologics platform

Preparation of all relevant project documentation (i.e. project plans, SOPs, scientific presentations, technical reports), their review and training

Presentation of the scientific results as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues, customers, and business partners

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• ePhD in biochemistry or related field with an excellent proven track recor
• dIdeally 1-2 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry regarding the development of protein therapeutic
• sGood acquaintance with transient protein expression in mammalian cell culture, purification process optimization and in-depth physicochemical characterization (i.e. using HPLC methods) of antibody-based candidate
• sStrong acquaintance regarding rational construct design, protein expression (mammalian, insect, bacterial), chromatographic purification techniques, purification process optimization and protein characterization method
• sExperience with non-antibody-based biologics as asse
• tHands-on mentality with a problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• sGreat interest in scientific project managemen
• tExperience with industry-standard operational management tools such as LIMS system
• sIndependent, service-oriented way of working, with an outstanding team spirit and excellent organization and communication skill
