The Institute of Sports Science welcomes applications for the following position starting October 1 st , 2026: Research Staff in the Sport and Cognition-Group (salary scale 13 TV-L, 50 %)

The fixed-term position ends September 30th, 2029.

Your role

Responsibilities and duties include:

• Assistance in the design and conduction of research projects in one of the groups research areas: “motor decision making” or “interpersonal coordination” in sports and during active mobility
• Publication of peer-reviewed journal articles
• Teaching in the amount of 2 weekly lecture hours per semester
• Supervision of student degree theses
• Contribution to university self-administration

Further scientific qualification is supported.

Who are we looking for?

To qualify for the position, applicants must hold a university science degree (master degree) in Sports Science, Psychology, Behavioural Neuroscience or related fields at the commencement of work.

In addition, it would be advantageous to have:

• Above-average academic performance
• Background in one of the research areas covered by the Group
• Background in kinematic movement analysis and/or the analysis of mobile eye tracking data
• Qualifications and experiences, or a strong interest in teaching at undergraduate and graduate level
• Distinct interest in interdisciplinary research and international research cooperation
• Strong written and verbal English skills
• High level of personal responsibility, ability to work in a team, willingness to learn, and service focus

Programming skills and a proven track record of publishing peer-reviewed articles will be assessed positively.
